Sharing Christ

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.  
(1 Corinthians 15:3-5)

The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.  


In His trial before Pilate, Jesus said, “For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”  (John 18:37)

It is not by our merits but God in His great mercy and love has called us out of darkness that we may know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints and the exceeding greatness of His power! 

It is by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that we are saved. 

As we obey God, we do not walk in sin and find ourselves mired in the quicksand of death and destruction.  

We are set free to live an abundant life and thus able to thankfully, joyfully and victoriously proclaim “Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.” (Psalm 95:1)

The cross of Calvary is meant for all that none should perish but have eternal life. 

Our Risen Savior commands us to go and make disciples of all nations.  

Let your life be an epistle of Christ by sharing "Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col 1:27).

We have a Master to serve.


The Pouring of the Holy Spirit

But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 

 —Titus 3:4-7

God’s Holy Spirit gives us access to abundant spiritual life in Christ. 

When we accept Christ as Lord, God washes our sins away and renews us by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior. 


Once we know Christ, the Holy Spirit helps us experience God’s love, understand God’s Word, pray, and abound in hope.

Today, as you think about your relationship with God, remember that the Spirit is your guide to life in Christ (Rom. 8:14). 

The Holy Spirit guides us into knowledge and spiritual growth.

In the Light of the Lamb

The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. —Revelation 21:23

The sun and moon are to light the day and the night. 

Whether illuminating our path or providing the life-giving radiance for fruitful crops and the nutrients our bodies need, the sun and moon are part of God’s marvellous provision of light. 

Someday God will provide a different kind of illumination. 

The eternal heavenly city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.

The Lord Jesus Christ in His glorified state will be the spiritual lamp that lights up that joyous new world.

In eternity, the Lord Jesus Christ will be the Lamp that lights our way. 

What a thrill it will be one day to live in the light of the Lamb!

In eternity, the redeemed will live in the presence of God Himself.

Salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ

Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. (Romans 5:18)

Some struggle to accept that salvation is a gift.

They want to do something to earn it.

The problem is, no one can afford it.

The price of salvation is perfection (Matt. 19:21), and the Lord Jesus Christ is the only person who could pay the price.

To anyone who thirsts, the Lord Jesus Christ promises to "give of the fountain of the water of life freely" (Rev. 21:6).

Some people try to purchase the living water of salvation with good deeds and charitable donations.

Although these are forms of spiritual service valued by God, they are not what God requires for the forgiveness of our sin.

The Lord Jesus Christ already paid the price by dying in our place, and He offers to quench our spiritual thirst when we drink freely from God's fountain that will never run dry.

A Barrier to God's Love

Christ experienced a barrier to His love when His people rejected Him.

He cried in Matthew 23: 37, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!"

Our sin is a barrier to God's love. 

Isaiah 59:2 wrote, "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear."

Jesus took care of the barrier by His sacrificial death on the cross and His resurrection.

Romans 8:11 said, "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."

There is now no barrier between God and those who would believe in Him.

Now is the time to experience God's love and His goodness.

Thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Mediator between God and men (1 Timothy 2:5).

Pondering on God's Word

But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. (Luke 2:19)

• Mary, the mother of Jesus, had heard great promises concerning her Son from the angels and shepherds, and she kept them in her heart. As His life unfolded, she would compare them with how her Son acted to fulfill them.


• Meditation on God’s Word is very important to our everyday life.


• It frees our mind from worries, fears, doubts, negativity and failures. It strengthens our faith and stirs our affections toward God. It encourages us to trust and obey God when we are tempted toward unbelief and disobedience. It assures us that all is fine in God’s hand, and that in His own good time, He will heal and restore us!


• Understanding and acting on God’s Word is the key to change in our lives!


• The truth of God’s Word is revealed only to those who seek Him, who spend time searching and pondering over what they find, and always believe in faith. It is only when we take time to ponder that we will see the faithfulness of our great God.

The Man Believed In Jesus

So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him
- John 4:43-54 -

If a prophet has no honour in his own country, why did the Lord Jesus return to Galilee? He was born in Judea, but Galilee was recognized as His country.

We cannot be certain why the Lord Jesus went to Galilee.

It was probably to avoid the crowds at this stage of His ministry.

The Galileans welcomed the Lord Jesus as a miracle worker. But they did not truly honour Him.

The Lord Jesus returned to Cana.

A nobleman came from Capernaum, some twenty miles distance, desperately seeking help.

He may have heard of the miracles of the Lord Jesus at Jerusalem, and he needed a miracle for his son.

The response of the Lord Jesus to the nobleman may have seemed harsh as he pleaded with Him to return with him to Capernaum. But the Lord wanted this man to trust in Him.

He told him to return home where he would find his son alive and well.

The nobleman believed the word that Jesus spoke to him.

He had no evidence that his son was well, but he took the Lord Jesus at His word, trusting in Him.

Travel was not easy in those days, and it was the next day before he reached home.

His servants met him to announce that his son was indeed well, having recovered the previous evening.

The nobleman found that it had been at the precise time that the Lord Jesus had said that his son was alive.

The nobleman and his entire household came to faith in Christ.

It is not easy to take the Lord at His word in times of deep anxiety.

But we must learn to do this, casting all our care upon Him because He does care for us.

Are we beset by doubts or tormented by fear? Are anxious thoughts robbing us of our joy in Christ? Come now to the Lord Jesus and unburden our heart to Him. Trust in Him. He cannot fail because He is God!

Enter The Hiding Place

The rock badgers are a feeble folk,
Yet they make their homes in the crags;
(Proverbs 30:26)

Our best security is in the Almighty God. He alone will guarantee our safety.

Blessed be the name of the Lord! In Him we find our delightful resting place.

Let us run to the Lord Jesus Christ, whatever our present grief may be.

The Lord Jesus Christ feels for us. He consoles us. He will help us.

In Jesus the weak are strong and the defenceless are safe.

We cannot make for ourselves a refuge.

But the Lord Jesus Christ has provided it, his Father has given it, and his Spirit has revealed it.

Let us enter the hiding place, and be safe from every foe.

Have Peace With God

We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom also we have access by faith
into this grace in which we stand.
- Romans 5:1-2 -

The Bible is about the Lord Jesus Christ and why He died.

God had provided access to His love through the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe and receive Jesus’ salvation from our sin.

The Bible and God’s love aren’t off-limits to anyone.

Let us receive His forgiveness today.

Who Is This?

Matthew 21:1-11

The Lord Jesus reached the Mount of Olives near the city of Jerusalem.

He sent two of the disciples to bring Him a donkey with its colts.

The animals could have belonged to a follower of the Lord Jesus.

The man responded immediately to the disciples’ words, “The Lord needs them”.

There is a lesson for us: We must respond immediately to needs in God’s work which we are able to meet.

The Lord Jesus went into the city of Jerusalem, riding on the young donkey.

There are two reasons why.

• It was to fulfill the Scripture. The events were foretold by the prophet Zechariah. The waving of the leafy branches from palm trees is associated with joy (Leviticus 23:40). The Lord Jesus was welcomed as the messianic King, fulfilling the Old Testament prophecy (Zechariah 9:9).

• He went to Jerusalem to die. He did not go secretly into Jerusalem to avoid being arrested. He went openly because it was God’s time for Him to go to the city. He went to Jerusalem to die on the cross as a sacrifice for sinners. He died as the Lamb of God to take away sin.

The entry of the Lord Jesus into the city of Jerusalem made such an impact that the Passover pilgrims asked, “Who is this?”

The multitudes answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee”.

The people acknowledged that the Lord Jesus was no ordinary man. He was a prophet. But they did not see Him as the King who would save sinners through His death on the cross.

How about us?

Do we only acknowledge the Lord Jesus as a prophet?

Or do we know Him as our personal Lord and Savior?

Who is This?

He Was Moved With Compassion For Them

Matthew 14 : 12-21

The feeding of the 5000 is the only miracle recorded in each of the gospels, except for the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We learn 2 wonderful things about the Lord Jesus Christ from this miracle.

It reveals His great love and compassion.

It reveals His great power.

The 12 disciples had returned from their preaching mission.

*******

The Lord Jesus Christ had heard the dreadful news of the murder of John the Baptist.

*******

The Lord Jesus Christ and His disciples had been so busy that they had not had any time to eat.

*******

They also needed rest and refreshment.

*******

They went by boat along the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee to a deserted place.

*******

But there was no escape from the huge crowds.

*******

They went by foot around the shore to await the arrival of the Lord.

*******

When the Lord Jesus Christ saw the huge multitude, He was moved with compassion for them.

He healed the sick and taught them.

*******

When evening came, the weary and hungry disciples wanted the Lord Jesus Christ to send away the multitude.

*******

But He miraculously fed them from just 5 loaves and 2 fish.

*******

5000 men, besides women and children had more than enough to eat.

*******

12 baskets were filled with the remains of the meal.

*******

We must never let weariness or other personal needs shut off our compassion for needy souls!

*******

God had given the Israelites manna when they were led by Moses.

*******

After seeing this miracle, the crowd recognized that the Lord Jesus Christ was the promised Messiah.

*******

The Lord Jesus Christ is wonderful in His power and compassion.

*******

He became man, knowing grief, hunger, and weariness.

But He would not send away the needy crowd until they had been fed.

*******

The Lord Jesus Christ knows about us and about all our needs and burdens.

He is full of compassion and love for us.

Let us come to Him and cast all our care upon Him.

Is The Lord Jesus Precious To You?

Matthew 13: 44-52 (NIV)

In the next two parables, the Lord Jesus Christ likens the kingdom of heaven to treasure hidden in a field and to a very precious pearl (44-45).

Both parables are similar in that both men find something of immense value that they must have, whatever the cost.

In the first case, the man was not seeking treasure, but stumbled upon it.

*******

In the second case, the man was a seeker after beautiful pearls.

*******

The first man went and sold all that he had to purchase the field and so gain the treasure.

*******

The second man did likewise to obtain his precious pearl.

*******

The point of both parables is that the Lord Jesus Christ is wonderful and precious in His person.

He gives such priceless blessings, that no price is too great to pay to gain Him.

We cannot purchase salvation.

But there is a price to pay for discipleship.

We have to deny ourselves and take up our cross to follow Christ.

Is the Lord Jesus precious to you?

*******

The parable of the dragnet is similar to that of the tares sown among the wheat in its meaning.

At the end of the age, the wicked will be separated from the righteous and cast into hell.

There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

*******

Jesus asked his disciples, “Have you understood all these things?”

They needed to be sure that the warning of their Master had sunk in.

It would affect the way they lived and preached.

If we do not understand that not everyone will go to heaven and that many will go to hell, we are in great peril, for we will be complacent about our own spiritual state!
