Spiritual Warfare

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. (2 Corinthians 10:3)

As Christians, we have our spiritual walk with God on earth. We still have to walk through life and face its many happenings. We have both our earthly affairs and spiritual affairs.

But, because of our remaining sins, the lust of the world, and the evil forces around us, our pilgrimage on earth is made more difficult. We have to fight against sins and guilt. We have to bear trials and temptation, and there is the terrible fear of death. All these are very real, so are the spiritual forces behind them.

Christian warfare is never about against flesh and blood. Christian warfare is spiritual in essense. It is fighting against Satan's strongholds.

Since the Fall, Satan has a strong grip of the world. He had captivated the world and brought it into darkness, sufferings, and death. He is determined to bring the world down together with him!

The Lord Jesus Christ had come to give us the LIght. He had come to die and took the punishment for all our sins. He had turned the wrath of God away from us. He had brought us to His Father's Kingdom. And He had promised us eternal life, and rest from our labors.

But we still have our pilgrimage on earth.

We are to war against Satan and his strongholds.

We still have to fight with our indwelling sins.

We still have to fight against the temptation of the world around us.

We still have to  deal with the attacks of Satan and his evil forces.

Christian life is never at ease. It is always a spiritual warfare with spiritual weapons against spiritual forces.

We need the Word of God.

We need the Presence of the Holy Spirit.

As Christians, we are God's vessels against Satan's strongholds.

The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to work in us and will us against Satan's strongholds.

Every high thought and argument will be brought down.

Every idol and demonic idea will be thrown down and burnt.

Every rebellion will be crashed.

Every disobedience will be punished before the Judgment Seat of Christ.

Christ will have the supremacy, and God our Father will rule all.

Handling God's Word

You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. (Deuteronomy 4:2)

  • Words matter.

  • Especially when they are the very words of God.

  • Moses warned Israel, “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God”.

  • Moses often reminded Israel of God’s mercy and faithfulness to them in the past.

  • But he also stressed the importance of obedience to God’s commands as they prepared to enter the Promised Land.

  • He told them that obedience would result in blessings of life and a rich inheritance.

  • Every command and regulation mattered to God.

  • The value His people placed on God’s Word showed their view of Him.

  • Today, when we value God’s Word, handle it with great care, and obey what it says, we give God the reverence He truly deserves.

  • God’s Word needs no additions or subtractions.

Wait On The Lord

“Be silent before me, you islands!
Let the nations renew their strength!
Let them come forward and speak;
let us meet together at the place of judgment.
- Isaiah 41:1 -

All things on earth need to be renewed.

No created thing can continue by itself.

Even the trees must drink of the rain of heaven and suck from the hidden treasures of the soil.

The life of men must be sustained with constant renewal from God.

It is necessary to repair the waste of the body by frequent meal.

It is also necessary to repair the waste of the soul by feeding upon the Word of God.

How depressed it is to hear and know that some saints are living without the diligent use of the Word of God and secret prayer!

Without constant restoration, we are not ready for the perpetual assaults of hell, worldliness, and the strifes from within.

Let us draw near to the footstool of divine mercy in humble entreaty.

Let us wait on the Lord.

They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.

The Word of God

It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
 - Matthew 4:4 -

Nothing can compare to the Bible.

It is the Word of God.

It is our guide in all matters of life.

We must be grateful of the Bible.

In it we learn of God and find guidance and direction for our lives.

Let us love God’s Word, and eagerly dig into its pages.

The Bible is like a lighthouse; with it, we are going in the right direction.

The Word of God is Life

Isaiah 40:8

The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever.

The Word of God is life.

The Word of Life changes the lives of many people.

Many found the Lord Jesus Christ by reading the Word of Life.

Depression lifted; recovery and healing begin to transform lives.

Christian people begin to meet in small group and share; more healing and mercy.

Oppositions and persecutions await God's people.

Some are imprisoned and tortured because of their faith.

Some are told to stop their faith and sign an agreement that they will not read the Bible.

But, because of the Holy Spirit’s assurance in them, they are ready to face anything…

Christ is my life.

For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain (Phil. 1:21).

They are always thinking of the Lord Jesus Christ.

What an honor for them to share His affiliation.

Their souls rest in God's perfect peace.

They begin to spread the Word of God; it is the Word of Life.

More and more people come to faith in Christ!

They undergo more severe torture, for months, and years...

There is no part of their body without pain...

Why are they paying so big a price?

Why don’t they just renounce their faith and live a peaceful life?

“To me, the Word of God is life!”

Let us honor and prize God’s Word and build our lives upon its everlasting promises.

And, let us pray for those in prisons around the world who pay a huge price for loving God’s Word.

“To me, the Word of God is life!”
