Wait Patiently For The Lord

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” (Lamentations 3:22-24)

One important aspects of knowing God's will for us is to wait for the Lord.

We are to be silent before Him because we seek His wisdom.

We are to wait patiently. We are to do so trustingly, in a spirit of expectation.

But there are difficulties: we lack patience.
  • We consistently react against our life as pilgrim, and want to have many things.
  • We are unwilling to bow to the sovereign providences of God in our lives; we want things our way.
  • We lack faith in the goodness of God.
  • We are too easily influenced by the attitudes of the age in which we live: we want instant Christianity.

But God is good. He is patient with us, and He cares for us.

God longs to bless us, but He has His own place and time to act.

Let us learn to be wait patiently on God.

God knows what is best for us, and He has His own timetable.
